Get small. Think big.

The evolution of portable technology will empower all of us in exciting new ways. To do more, in more places. To bring our home, or our work, with us wherever we go. Or leave it all behind and escape. The elements of technology are getting smaller, thinner, and lighter than ever before.

Which gives our imaginations the power to think bigger.

We want to explore your vision of the future of moving innovation. Make it artistic and awe-inspiring, but make it something we can all aspire to in the decade to come. Not sci-fi, just amazingly creative.

Show us how your device integrates with the daily human experience in a revolutionary—yet realistic, attainable—way, delivering groundbreaking new thinking on performing everyday tasks. In addition to prizes for best artistic imagery, there will be a special prize for the best product visualization.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What are the Final Image technical requirements?

    Dimensions: 2560 x 1600 pixels, or similar
File type/extension: High quality JPG / .jpg
  • Q: Why must entrants be members of CGTalk or CGSociety?

We need to be able to contact all entrants -- we have one registration system. This also means that all competition entrants are covered by the same set of Terms and Conditions.
  • Q: Do I have to submit an image in the 2560 x 1600 size?

  • Q: What if I want to do a different aspect image?

You can fill it out to 2560 x 1600 with black borders.
  • Q: Why do entrants have to be 18 or older?

Prizes include packages that need to be sent to a person 18 years or older. There are also restrictions on minors entering competitions in some countries, so it’s only fair to apply the same age restriction to the whole world.
  • Q: Are there any work in progress uploads?

No, but - however you may upload them if you wish. All you have to do is upload your final entry before the deadline of July 18, 2011
  • Q: Can NVIDIA use my art for marketing without asking me?

No. NVIDIA can only use your art as part of gallery, wallpaper or other collections of similar images and objects with your full credits attached. If NVIDIA want to use your work in some other way they will have to contact you directly to get your permission.
  • Q: Why must entrants grant Ballistic Media and sponsor (NVIDIA) first right to publish their submitted work in any media?

NVIDIA are the sole sponsors of this competition and have requested this to prevent any unscruplus competitor trying to exploit entrants work. We agree that it would not be fair to let some competitor benefit from NVIDIA’s sponsorship of this competition. This is why we agreed to this restriction in running this competition – it’s fair.
  • Q: What image file size is best?

Submitted image resolution must be 2560 x 1600. The actual file size will vary based on image compression. You should use minimal compression (high quality JPEG) to retain your image quality
  • Q: HELP! My image wont upload, what should I do?

The upload will fail if the image file-name is greater than 190 characters or contains special-characters/spaces. Also check that your image meets the 'technical requirements' above.
  • Q: My question wasn't answered above. What should I do?

If you have additional questions or comments, please post a reply to the FAQs thread on CGTalk.
